With the introduction of the New Electricity Trading Arrangements (NETA) on 27 March 2001, the Electricity Pool of England & Wales ceased to be the wholesale market mechanism for trading electricity in England and Wales.

The electricity trading arrangements in England & Wales are now managed by ELEXON, the Balancing and Settlement Code Company.

This website has been frozen as at 24 April 2001 (NETA Go Live + 28 days) and is now a library resource only. No new information will be posted on this website, and Guidance Notes relating to trading in the Electricity Pool of England & Wales are no longer available.
