- I need some Pool Price information, but am unsure what the different prices represent?
- System Marginal Price (SMP) is the price of the most expensive genset scheduled to meet forecast demand. Pool Purchase Price (PPP) is paid for the supply of generation and is derived from SMP + a Capacity Payment (provided to give an incentive to Generators to maintain an adequate margin of generation over the level of demand for electricity). Pool Selling Price (PSP) is the price at which Suppliers buy from the Pool. It is calculated by adding additional costs incurred on the day of operation to PPP.
